On 23rd of November, 2022 within the “Quality week”, “Foreign Languages and Translation studies” chair, Languages and Management Department, West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University, hosted the Round table “Graduate Employability: opportunities and challenges”. The management of the university, the heads of the internal departments and academic studies as well as the HR manager, also interpreters-translators: Bibigul Baimukhanova, Technical translator, HSE, KPO b.v.; Timur Ziapparov, Interpreter/Translator, Kazanorgsintez, Russian Federation; Gulshan Aliyeva, Professional translator/interpreter, APTK (online); Galym Bekkaliyev, Director of State-public utility community «West Kazakhstan Regional center for tourism and ecology for children and teenagers, Education Department» took part in the event.
The aim of the round table was to secure graduates with jobs and discuss the professional qualification necessary for the future translators as well as renew the educational programs.
All the participants discussed the qualification requirements, professional skills and the English language competency of the future interpreters/translators. They offered to develop new educational programs that will meet the market needs as well as future translation requirements. The graduate students of the 3 and 4 courses asked questions and got valuable practical input.
