On December 5, 2024, under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Veterinary Science and Technosphere Safety of the Institute of Industry Technologies of ZKITU, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Dnekeshev A.K., an off-site practical-oriented lesson was organized on the subject of “Animal Pathology”. The practical-oriented lesson was held on the topic: “Research of small animals with various pathologies using innovative methods”, based on the veterinary clinic “ZOODOCTOR”, headed by Stramousov Maxim Anatolyevich.

The purpose of our lesson was to familiarize ourselves with and practice various manipulations when treating small domestic animals with various pathologies and using an ultrasound machine to make an accurate and correct diagnosis of internal diseases.

In this case, during our lesson, the urinary system of a cat was examined with an ultrasound machine, a study was conducted on the pathology of the tubules and vessels of the kidneys. Then each student read computer drawings of the kidneys from the left and right sides under the guidance of the veterinarian of the clinic Vladislav Aleksandrovich Dudin, and an accurate diagnosis was made with the help of an ultrasound machine: Glomerulonephritis – inflammation of the kidneys with the involvement of glomeruli – glomeruli that filter blood. And also, during our practice-oriented lesson, students mastered and practiced practical skills of thermometry for cats, laboratory diagnostic methods for various pathologies, etc. In conclusion, it can be said that with such an organization of the educational process in small groups in veterinary clinics, students are able to enhance the assimilation and explanation of the material through discussion, which gives the participants the opportunity to express their ideas and improves practical skills.
