West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University is a multidisciplinary university with many years of experience in training personnel in the field of education, services, business, engineering, agriculture, etc. Carries out educational activity of ZKITU according to the state license № KZ70LAA00005828 of September 30, 2015, given out by Committee on control in sphere of formation and science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology is one of the country’s multidisciplinary universities. In 2008, in order to optimize the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Uralsk, on the basis of three private universities (West Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Technology, West Kazakhstan Academy of Humanities and Kazakhstan University of Innovative and Telecommunication Systems), the West Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Humanities was formed. In 2012, the Eurasia Institute joined him. In 2015, on the basis of the West Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Humanities, two private universities of the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology and the Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Telecommunications Systems were formed.

West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology seeks to meet the needs of employers for active, initiative, creative and effective specialists. The university has crossed the 20-year milestone of educational activities. Over the years, the university has trained more than 35 thousand specialists, including: deputies of the Senate and the Majilis, employees of ministries and departments, heads and specialists of state-owned enterprises and private firms. Employment today is a key indicator of the attractiveness and quality of educational programs implemented by the university. On an ongoing basis, the employment of graduates is monitored, as a result of the calculation of employment indicators according to the SCVP, the employment rate of graduates annually averages more than 80%, which indicates the demand of our graduates in the labor market and contributes to improving the image of the university’s OP.

Currently, more than 9 thousand students and undergraduates study at ZKITU, including from the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan.

The university’s competitiveness in the educational arena is confirmed by participation in ratings. In the National ranking of demand of universities of Kazakhstan – 2020, ZKITU took a worthy 14th place among 89 universities of Kazakhstan, entering the “TOP 15.” According to the results of the rating of universities in 2018, the Center for the Development of Labor Resources JSC, by order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, ZKITU takes 18th place. In the ranking of educational programs of universities of Kazakhstan, conducted by the Atameken NPP, undergraduate educational programs are annually among the top 10.

The structure of the university includes: Faculty of Engineering and Humanities, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Languages ​ ​ and Management, Scientific Library, Editorial and Publishing Department and other units of scientific, educational and production areas. The faculties include 12 departments that prepare personnel for 59 educational programs. More than 9 thousand students and undergraduates study at ZKITU. The university has 7 educational buildings, a veterinary clinic, a vivarium, 2 student dormitory, 3 typical sports halls and 2 auxiliary halls.

The university has teachers-holders of the state grant “Best University Teacher”, teachers-holders of medals and badges “Excellence in Education”, “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” “Y. Altynsarin”, “For contribution to the development of science”, “named after A. Baitursynov” and others, masters of sports. In 2020, two teachers of the pedagogical faculty won the state grant “Best University Teacher.”

The university management develops the academic mobility of students and teachers, provides opportunities for internships in Azerbaijan, Poland, Italy, the USA, Israel, Turkey, the Russian Federation and leading universities in Kazakhstan. Young teachers study at the graduate school of Samara State Economic University, Saratov State Research Institute named after N.G. Chernyshevsky, Bashkir GPU named after M. Akmulla, in doctoral studies PhD NPU named after Abay, Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University, Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, Kazakh National Agrarian University.

The university has a Council of Young Scientists, scientific student societies, student circles. The university publishes the scientific publication ZKITU Bulletin. There is an increase in the publication activity of PPP in foreign magazines with a non-zero impact factor.

ZKITU has established an alumni association, an employers’ council, student self-government, and youth organizations. Seasonal employment of students in the MTR is provided under the program “Jasyl el.” Every year, university students win prizes based on the results of competitions, subject Olympiads and scientific conferences, sports competitions held in Kazakhstan and abroad. The university is distinguished by a rich cultural and sports life of students, provided by the Zhas aқyndar, Alash circles, the Aru dance ensemble, the Barys sports club, sports sections, a vocal circle, the Әdіlet debate club, etc.

Today, ZKITU is one of the largest and widely known multidisciplinary universities in the region, which carries out educational and scientific activities, advanced training and retraining of managerial and scientific personnel for the western region of Kazakhstan. ZKITU is a dynamically developing university, constantly improving its activities and infrastructure.
