On December 11, 2024, the curatorial hour “Heroes of December Events” was held at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan among students of the educational program 6B01703–Russian language and literature at schools with a non-Russian language of teaching.

The purpose of this event is to instill patriotic feelings for their homeland, sense of civic duty, responsibility to the future, and also, to shape everyone’s sense of responsibility in the face of history.

Kazakhstan Independence Day is the main national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Residents of the country celebrate this date annually on December 16. This year, the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates 33 years since the declaration of independence: on December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted a law on the independence and state sovereignty of the Republic.

The event was attended by students of RYAL-421, 321 groups, during which students made reports on Decembrist heroes, poems were read, and the video “Zheltoksan Qurbandary” was demonstrated.
