April 25, 2022 at the Department of Languages and Management WKITU held a meeting of third-year students of economic specialties with Y.R. Irgaliev, director of the Western Regional Branch of Science and Education Foundation “Aspandau”. The purpose of the meeting is to familiarize students with the main provisions of the Address of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan on March 16, 2022.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that a comprehensive modernisation of the political system of the country is long overdue. Recommendations of the deputies of Parliament, the Constitutional Council, the Central Election Commission, the Supreme Court and authoritative experts were taken into account in the development of the modernisation programme.

Y.R. Irgaliev noted at the meeting with students that the proposed reforms are a reflection of a wide range of views that exist in our society. They act as a logical continuation of the reforms already initiated and solve two urgent problems. First, they promote consistent democratisation, and second, they ensure the sustainability and governability of the state.

This is particularly important against the backdrop of fundamental societal shifts taking place within the country, as well as increasing geopolitical tensions.

At the end of the meeting, Y.R. Irgaliev answered students’ questions. The meeting showed that the students have an active life position and are not indifferent to the reforms taking place in the country.
