On April 10, 2026, the Department of Finance and Economics of the Institute of Education and Management held the International Scientific Conference entitled “Abai’s Legacy in the Context of Contemporary Economic Science in Kazakhstan.” The conference was organized in a hybrid format and conducted in three languages. Its primary objective was to provide a comprehensive interdisciplinary platform for the examination and reinterpretation of Abai’s philosophical, ethical, and socio-economic ideas in light of contemporary economic theory and practice in Kazakhstan.

The conference brought together scholars from higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation. In-person presentations were delivered by representatives of the Tajik State University of Commerce, including A.R. Kurbonov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and N.S. Salimov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Technologies in Economics. The conference addressed a wide range of issues related to the socio-economic development of countries, including sustainable development, social inequality, human capital formation, and the modernization of national economic systems.

The conference facilitated scholarly dialogue among researchers and academics, promoting the integration of Abai’s humanistic values—such as rationality, moral responsibility, education, and social justice—into contemporary economic discourse.
