On February 17, 2026, a seminar dedicated to International Book Giving Day was held at the Coworking Center of the Institute of Sectoral Technologies of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University.

The event was organized in accordance with the official directive of the Institute’s administration and was aimed at fostering students’ sustained interest in reading, developing a culture of academic reading, and strengthening the intellectual traditions of the University.

During the seminar, particular attention was given to the concept of building a “reading nation,” as outlined in the Address to the People of Kazakhstan by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In his Address, the President emphasized that promoting a culture of reading is a key mechanism for enhancing the country’s intellectual potential, and that supporting young people’s aspiration for quality education should be a priority of state policy. In this context, the seminar was aimed at supporting students’ spiritual and cultural development, enhancing their critical thinking skills, and strengthening national intellectual values.

The seminar was attended by faculty members, staff, and students of the Institute. The moderators were Senior Lecturer of the Department of Law, Master A.Zh. Sarsenova, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of NGI, Master S.S. Tulemіsova. Representatives of various departments, library staff, and specialists of the Department of Educational Work also took part in the seminar.

As part of the event, an interactive platform titled “Gift a Book” was organized to promote reading among students and to foster a culture of exchanging intellectual values. Participants discussed the role of books in the professional development of future specialists, the importance of academic reading in shaping professional thinking, and current trends in scientific literature across various fields.

Holding such events contributes to strengthening the academic environment, developing students’ intellectual potential, and forming sustainable value orientations within the educational process.
