In accordance with Letter No. 14-14-2-8/774-И dated February 4, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting with department specialists was held for students of the 6B04202 “Law” educational program as part of an awareness-raising campaign under the slogan “Respect for Women = an Indicator of a Society’s Level of Development.”The purpose of the event was to prevent forced marriage, stalking, and other forms of violence against women, to enhance legal literacy, and to promote zero tolerance in society toward such offenses.
During the meeting, industry specialists — Satarova Dilyara Makhmudovna, Police Major, Head of the Domestic Violence Prevention Unit of the Public Security Department of the Police Department of the West Kazakhstan Region, and Nurmakov Bekzhan, Police Lieutenant, Inspector for Combating Domestic Violence of the Public Security Department of the Police Department of Uralsk — participated and provided a detailed explanation of the current legislation requirements in the field of protecting women’s rights. They delivered comprehensive information on the legal consequences of forced marriage, stalking, and domestic violence. In addition, measures of administrative and criminal liability предусмотренные for such unlawful acts were explained through specific examples.
Information was also presented on the mechanisms for protecting victims, the procedure for applying to law enforcement agencies, and the available measures of legal, social, and psychological support. It was emphasized that ensuring the safety of women and preventing all forms of violence is one of the priority directions of state policy.
The event was held in an open dialogue format. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and receive competent explanations from the specialists.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of fostering zero tolerance in society toward any manifestations of violence against women was highlighted, as well as the need for continued awareness-raising and preventive work in this area.
