On October 24, 2025, third-year students of the educational program 6B11201 “Life Safety and Environmental Protection” at the Institute of Industry Technologies of West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University (WKITU) visited Fire Station No. 2 in the city of Oral, West Kazakhstan Region. The excursion was organized within the framework of the course “Protection of Buildings and Structures from Fires.”
The purpose of the excursion was to familiarize students with the activities of the fire station, the means and methods of ensuring fire safety, as well as the practical application of knowledge gained during the educational process.
The excursion was accompanied by Senior Lecturer of the Department of “Veterinary and Technosphere Safety,” I.K. Zhumagaliev, who provided methodological guidance to the students and helped connect practical information with the theoretical disciplines studied.
The platoon commander, Senior Lieutenant of Civil Protection A.A. Klishev, conducted a detailed tour of the unit for the students. He explained the structure of the fire station, the organizational responsibilities of firefighters, the main types of equipment and machinery used in firefighting and emergency response. Special attention was given to firefighters’ actions during various types of fires, safety measures, and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
During the excursion, students were explained the basic rules of behavior in case of fire, methods to prevent the spread of fire, as well as evacuation and rescue procedures. A demonstration of practical skills in using fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment was also conducted.
The excursion contributed to deepening students’ theoretical knowledge in the course “Protection of Buildings and Structures from Fires,” allowed them to see firefighters’ work in practice, and reinforced their understanding of the principles of ensuring fire safety in various objects and conditions.
