From 20th to 21st of September, at assembly hall of WKITU there was the open chess tournament “Uralsk Autumn,” dedicated to City Day. More than 66 strong athletes of Uralsk, the Burlin, Terektynskyi, and Baiterek regions of West Kazakhstan region, and the Aktobe region participated in the chess competition. Schoolchildren, students, veterans, and government employees participated. After a tough competition, first place was won by WKITU champion Dmitry Danilov in rapid and blitz; among girls, 11-year-old Kambar Amina won the rapid title; and 9-year-old Galieva Tokzhan won the blitz title. The organizer and participant of the tournament, Professor N.M. Kadyrgaliev, won the “Best Senior” category in rapid and blitz. All winners and runners-up were awarded diplomas by WKITU rector, associate professor B.T. Shakeshev.
