On 18 September 2026, as part of the ongoing development of international research and educational cooperation, a working meeting was held between representatives of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University (WKITU) and the Orenburg State Pedagogical University (OSPU).
The meeting was attended by Elena Vadimovna Burlutskaya, Vice-Rector for Research at OSPU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor; Elena Aleksandrovna Stukolova, Head of the Department of English Language and Methods of Teaching English at OSPU, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Izimgali Nuryimovich Zhubantayev, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations at WKITU, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences; Samal Amangeldievna Mashanova, First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Affairs at WKITU, Candidate of Economic Sciences; Aigul Abibullaevna Ramanova, Director of the Institute of Education and Management at WKITU, Candidate of Philological Sciences; and Bakit Adilgereevna Urazova, Deputy Head of the Department of Science and Digitalization at the Institute of Education and Management.
The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the prospects and priority areas for further international cooperation between WKITU and OSPU, as well as to identify appropriate mechanisms for implementing joint research and educational initiatives.
Particular attention was devoted to the development of joint research activities, including the preparation and implementation of inter-university research projects, the conduct of collaborative studies addressing relevant socio-economic, pedagogical, and humanities-related issues, and the preparation of joint scholarly publications for publication in national and international academic journals.
A separate area of discussion concerned the development of academic mobility for teaching staff, researchers, doctoral students, and master’s students. The participants considered opportunities for short-term research placements, academic consultations, reciprocal academic visits, and participation in research seminars, conferences, and other research and educational events.
Considerable attention was also given to the joint development and implementation of educational projects. In particular, the participants discussed prospects for developing joint educational activities, delivering open lectures and research-methodological seminars, exchanging expertise in educational process management, and introducing contemporary pedagogical technologies.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of multicultural education, taking into account the geographical proximity of the two universities and the commonality of their research and educational interests. Particular emphasis is expected to be placed on the study of contemporary models of multicultural education in higher education institutions and general education schools, the development of students’ intercultural competence, and the enhancement of mechanisms for integrating cultural diversity into the educational environment.
Joint participation in international research and educational forums, conferences, round-table discussions, and project-based initiatives was identified as a promising area of cooperation. Such activities are expected to facilitate broader professional interaction between the academic communities of the two universities and contribute to strengthening their international academic engagement.
The development of international cooperation constitutes an important area of WKITU’s institutional activities, aimed at strengthening academic partnerships, expanding research collaboration, and creating new opportunities for the university’s teaching staff, researchers, and students.
