On 01.09.23, the teaching staff of the Department of Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University took part in the discussion of the presentation “Implementation of projects of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the state program “Digital Kazakhstan” presented by the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the West Kazakhstan Region.
The agenda discussed topical issues on the automation of the criminal process, the appointment of inspections, work with appeals aimed at optimizing the activities of state bodies, strengthening the protection of citizens’ rights, ensuring transparency and reliability of legal statistics, minimizing corruption risks, as well as saving budget funds.
Promising opportunities of digital projects were discussed: “Unified Register of subjects and objects of inspections”, “Electronic appeals” and the information service “Qamqor”.
In particular, it was noted that the essence of this work is that the investigator, his decision on recognizing a person as a suspect, qualification, re-qualification of the act, interruption of deadlines, termination of the case, as well as the protocol of the person’s accusation and the decision on the application of writ proceedings forms in the ERDR in electronic form. In addition, participants in the criminal process have the opportunity to remotely monitor the procedural decisions taken, in cases of disagreement, to appeal them in a timely manner. This model reduces the preparation time of procedural documents and investigation time, ensures the protection of the rights and freedoms of persons illegally involved in the orbit of criminal prosecution.
The presentation also shows the work of the information service “Qamqor”, which provides the public with access to legal information.
