The staff and students of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University began the new 2023-2024 academic year by listening live to the Address of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan «The Economic Course of a Fair Kazakhstan».

The management of the university, teachers and students of the Institute of Industrial Technologies listened to the message and unanimously supported the main priorities and tasks of the socio-economic development of the country for the coming period, as stated by the Head of State.

The issues raised in the address of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people covered all 17 areas of sustainable development. The message gave priority to the rational use of terrestrial ecosystems and water resources, climate change, inclusive growth and economic change, global partnership, resource mobilization, technology, capacity building and trade. In addition, the President’s message noted the need to develop university science in accordance with modern requirements.

One of the topical issues raised in the message is the development of IT technologies. In the message, the Head of State noted that «our important strategic task is to turn Kazakhstan into an IT state».  Also instructing the government to develop artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need to train qualified specialists, «at least three well-known universities should be engaged in training and conducting research in the field of artificial intelligence».

In the message, special attention was paid to science and the education system, since it is a representative of the industry, this message also places responsibility on us.

The staff of ZKITU, the Institute of Industry Technologies will continue systematic work on the implementation of topical issues voiced in the President’s Address.
