On April 24, 2026, meetings of the Academic Committees were held at the Institute of Industrial Technologies of WKITU, dedicated to the development and updating of the educational programs of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety. The following programs were considered: 6B11201 Life Safety and Environmental Protection, 6B09103 Veterinary Medicine, 6B09104 Veterinary Medicine (DOP), 6B09105 Veterinary Medicine with the Basics of Zooengineering, 7M09101/7M09102 Veterinary Medicine, as well as 6B07205 “Food Technology and Safety.” The activities of the Academic Committees are aimed at improving the quality of educational programs and systematically updating their content in accordance with modern labor market requirements.

Particular attention during the meetings was given to the needs of employers in the West Kazakhstan region, as well as to the provisions of the regional Atlas of New Professions, which reflects priority areas of development and in-demand competencies. This approach made it possible to align the content of educational programs with the real needs of the regional economy and enhance their practical relevance.

The meetings were attended by leading faculty members and researchers of the department, students and master’s students, as well as representatives of employers and industry organizations. Among them were AVENCOM LLP, the West Kazakhstan branch of the Republican Veterinary Laboratory under the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the West Kazakhstan branch of the Kazakh Scientific Research Veterinary Institute (KazNIVI), Kenes PV LLP, the Department of Ecology for the West Kazakhstan region, the West Kazakhstan regional branch of “Ak Beren” LLP (Republican Central Headquarters of Professional Militarized Emergency Rescue Services), Beles Agro LLP, as well as the State Institution “Firefighting and Emergency Rescue Service” of the Department of Emergency Situations of the West Kazakhstan region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the discussions, key issues of specialist training, as well as the structure and content of the educational programs, were considered. The list of elective disciplines for the 2026–2027 academic year was formed in accordance with the needs of regional employers. In addition, the titles of disciplines and expected learning outcomes were уточнены.

As a result of the meetings, a decision was made to include new courses in the educational programs and elective course catalogs aimed at developing professional competencies that are in demand in the modern labor market.
