On March 10, a master class on the updated curriculum of the discipline “History of Kazakhstan” was held at the Department of History and Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University. The master class was conducted by the teacher of history of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Uralsk, Master of Historical Sciences-Magzumova Arailym Serikovna. The purpose of the master class was to familiarize with the curriculum of the discipline “History of Kazakhstan”, curricula and features of the application of the criteria assessment system. The main objectives of the school subject of history in the formation of historical consciousness among students are determined, including explanations in the following areas: the formation of a holistic picture of the development of society, the development of historical thinking skills, the formation of national identity. The features of the selection and creation of content according to the updated curriculum were also demonstrated. The orientation of history on the development of thinking skills was explained by the example of specific learning concepts, namely: change and continuity, cause and effect, argument, similarity and difference, significance, interpretation. The master class on the study of history was held at a high level, contributed to the comprehension of historical experience and its lessons on which the participants received valuable information.
