The XXXII Winter Universiade 2025 has started in the Italian city of Turin. Competitions in 11 sports will be held at two stadium clusters located in the metropolitan area of ​​Turin and the Piedmont region.

On January 13, the delegation of the Kazakhstan national team took part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Universiade 2025 in Turin (Italy).

The flag bearers of Kazakhstan were hockey player Abylaikhan Suleimenov and freestyle skier Ayaulym Amrenova – they came out in national costumes. The competitions at the Universiade in Turin will last until January 23. In the north of the Apennine Peninsula, about 2,000 athletes from 54 countries will compete for medals in 11 sports (biathlon, cross-country skiing, winter orienteering, freestyle, figure skating, ice hockey (men, women), paraskiing, alpine skiing, short track). The honor of our country at the student championship will be defended by 103 students, including two athletes representing our university: a 2nd-year student of the Physical Culture and Sports educational program Azhgaliyeva Alina and a graduate of this speciality Abulkatimov Alisher. We wish good luck to the Kazakhstan team and our athletes at the Universiade.
