On January 13, 2025, a scientific seminar of the Department of Law was held at the West Kazakhstan Innovative-Technological University. The seminar focused on the current issues of legal regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, contemporary problems in various branches of law, and the prospects for the development of criminal and constitutional legislation. The seminar served as an important platform for discussing urgent issues in legal practice and theory, as well as presenting the results of scientific research conducted both within the university and in other academic institutions.

The event brought together leading scholars, faculty members, researchers, and practitioners in the field of law, as well as students and postgraduates engaged in legal studies. The seminar participants presented reports covering a wide range of legal issues, reflecting the high level of academic and scientific activity of the department.

The seminar was structured into two main blocks: reports on the completion of scientific research on the department’s comprehensive topics and initiative-based topics, as well as reports from doctoral candidates and postgraduates. During the discussions, crucial issues were addressed, such as legal regulation in criminal law, civil law relationships, cybersecurity, the protection of minors’ rights, and many others.

Special attention was given to the reform of criminal legislation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the improvement of legal support for citizens, and the development of mechanisms to strengthen the rule of law. Various approaches to solving urgent legal problems were proposed at the seminar, based on the results of scientific research conducted by the participants.

The seminar became an important event in the academic life of the university, fostering the expansion of scientific contacts and the exchange of experiences between researchers, faculty, and practicing lawyers. It also contributed to identifying new directions for further research in the field of law, which will promote the continued development of legal science in Kazakhstan.

At the conclusion of the seminar, key findings were summarized, and directions for further in-depth study and practical application of scientific achievements in the field of law were outlined.
