On May 30–31, 2026, the WKF Georgia Open International Karate Tournament was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, bringing together more than 700 athletes from 16 countries around the world.
Madina Alimanova, a fourth-year student of the Physical Education and Sports educational program at the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University (ZKITU), won the gold medal in the Women’s Kumite -50 kg category, claiming first place in a highly competitive field.
Madina Alimanova is a holder of a 1st Dan black belt, a World Karate Champion, a multiple-time champion of Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and various international tournaments. She is also a bronze medalist of the Asian Karate Championships, a bronze medalist of the 1st CIS Games, a bronze medalist of the BRICS Games, and a silver medalist of the XIII Summer Universiade of Students of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This outstanding achievement is another testament to Madina’s dedication, perseverance, and exceptional athletic skills. Her victory at such a prestigious international event highlights both her personal excellence and the growing success of Kazakhstani karate on the world stage.
