On April 8, 2022, 1st year students of the educational program “Life Safety and Environmental Protection” members of the “Erudite” circle of the Faculty of Engineering and Humanities of ZKITU visited the 110/35/10 kV substation “Omega” of the enterprise “West Kazakhstan Regional Electric Grid Company” LLP . The purpose of the excursion is to acquaint students with the basic technological processes and safety regulations at work. The organizer of the event was the senior lecturer of the Department of Ecology and Biotechnology, Master of Technical Sciences, head of the circle “Erudite” Kurmasheva G.R.

Head of the substation Chesnokov V.E. and safety engineer Berdalieva M.B. told about the history of the enterprise and about the operation of the substation. The students were informed that the work carried out at substations is subject to increased labor safety requirements. The students learned that safety measures include such activities as training and instructing workers on labor safety issues, equipping production equipment with protective devices, developing means of collective and individual protection of workers from exposure to harmful and dangerous factors.
