On February 16, 2024, students and magistrands of the educational program “History” of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University visited the exhibition “Augan – zhurekte kalgan iz”, dedicated to the 35-th anniversary of the military withdrawal of Soviet forces from Afghanistan, prepared by the West Kazakhstan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore.

Thanks to the documentary data collected in the collections of the West Kazakhstan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, the exhibition aroused particular interest among students. The exhibition was organized to educate the younger generation about the consequences of the ill-fated war, which lasted 10 years, about the exploits of fellow countrymen in the performance of their duty to the Fatherland. During the event, participants honored veterans of the Afghan War, representatives of the public association “Society of Veterans – Disabled War Veterans in Afghanistan in the West Kazakhstan Region” shared their memories.

The students who took part in the event congratulated the veterans of the war in Afghanistan on the holiday.
