In accordance with the program of the event “Decade of Science-2024” on April 4, 2024, the Institute of Industrial Technologies of ZKITU, dedicated to the “Day of Science Workers” in Kazakhstan, the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety organized a meeting of students of OP 6B09103 “Veterinary Medicine”, 6B09101 “Veterinary Medicine” by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor S.G. Kanatbaev. During the meeting, Professor Serik Ganievich shared with the students his vision and scientific experience on the topic: “The path to science”. In the presentation format, he told and demonstrated to the students the stages of the formation of his scientific and pedagogical activity. The professor spoke in detail about his biography, where he got his education, how he came to science and about his scientific achievements.
As the professor noted, the introduction of students to science begins with more advanced training, participation in subject-based educational circles, where students comprehend the basics of scientific work. The results of participation in educational circles become the topic of student papers in student scientific conferences, subject Olympiads, and in some cases, the introduction to scientific projects of the department and the university.
For a scientific start and further growth, love of science and talent alone are not enough, unrestrained work, perseverance and the help of a scientific supervisor are also needed. But you can withstand all the difficulties of this path only if you love your profession, the subject and the topic of your research. Immersion in the world of science portends a lot of interesting meetings, mutual cooperation with scientists both inside and outside Kazakhstan.
Such meetings are useful for everyone. This gives scientists and teachers the opportunity to reflect on their path, sum up preliminary results, and see their achievements. The meetings give students and undergraduates the opportunity to find themselves.
