On April 14, 2023, the Department of History and Law of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University organized a round table with the participation of PhD, Associate Professor of WKITU, Head of the Center for Archeology Kalmenov Murat Dabylovich and historian, director of the West Kazakhstan Tourism Association Kurymbaev Aibolat Shamuratovich.

During the event, in a report on the history and archaeological research of the medieval urban culture of Kazakhstan on the topic “The ancient settlement of Zhaiyk – a monument of medieval urban culture”, Kalmenov Murat Dabylovich presented the exhibits found as a result of excavations, familiarized the participants of the round table with the medieval image of urban planning, life, culture and economy those eras.

In addition, Aibolat Shamuratovich Kurymbaev, Master of History, shared valuable information about the expedition “Heirs of the Great Steppe” in his report.

The expedition “Heirs of the Great Steppe” from Uralsk traveled 5 thousand kilometers, visited the Astrakhan, Pyatigorsk regions of the Russian Federation, visited Yalta and Bakshasaray on the Crimean Peninsula, and the travelers also told the audience about the find belonging to the last ruler of the Bokey Horde, Zhangir Khan.

The round table was attended by teachers, undergraduates and university students. Also, young specialists connected in the ZOOM format participated in the round table meeting, the audience asked questions and exchanged opinions with the participants.
