On March 13, 2025, students of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of the IOT WKITU took part in the All-Russian Student Olympiad with international participation in the field of Ecology, organized by the Department of Ecology and Technosphere Safety of Saratov State Technical University named after Yuri Gagarin.

The Olympiad was held in two stages. The geography of the participating universities was wide and included representatives from 15 countries. The correspondence stage was held online, and the face–to-face one took place on March 12 at the Gagarin State Technical University and on March 13 at the Kazakhstan University of Innovative and Telecommunication Systems. The Saratov delegation was represented at the face-to-face stage by the head of the Department of Ecology and Technosphere Safety, Professor Tikhomirova Elena Ivanovna, lecturer of the department Degteva Alina and graduate student Nikolai Prokazov, who is a graduate of WKITU 2022. according to OP 6B11201-Life safety and environmental protection.

The Olympiad included several stages: a team presentation, theoretical testing, and a practical assignment. The work of each participant was evaluated by an international jury, which included experts in the field of ecology and nature management.

The results of the Olympiad will be announced soon, and all participants will receive certificates. The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad from among our students will have the opportunity to study free of charge within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation in the 2025-2026 academic year at the graduate school of the State Technical University in the field of Ecology and Environmental Management.
