As part of the WKITU Science Decade, dedicated to the birthday of the first Kazakh academician K.I. Satpayev and the 25th anniversary of the university, an intellectual quiz competition titled “The Country’s Black Gold” was held on April 10, 2025, by the Department of Petroleum Engineering. The event was attended by faculty members and students of the department.
The main goal of the competition was to develop students’ critical thinking skills based on current news and modern demands, enhance their ability to think quickly and make decisions within a limited time, approach problems from different perspectives, improve teamwork, exchange experiences, and further integrate innovative technologies into the educational process.
The quiz participants worked in teams and competed in four engaging and dynamic rounds. In a tense and exciting contest filled with joyful and surprising moments, the team “Oil Energy” emerged victorious among five competing teams, demonstrating a high level of preparation and rightfully earning first place.
