On December 10, 2025, a guest lecture for 3rd–4th year students was held at ZKITU College on the topic “Medical Errors in Veterinary Practice of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Causes, Consequences, and Prevention.”

The lecture was delivered by Professor Absatirov G.G., Doctor of Veterinary Sciences. In his presentation, he addressed key issues of modern veterinary practice, paying special attention to the concept of medical error, its distinction from professional negligence, as well as objective and subjective factors influencing clinical decision-making.

At the same time, the speaker emphasized the importance of science in the system of professional education and the role of scientific research in the development of veterinary practice. Using real professional and scientific cases as examples, he demonstrated how a scientific approach, analytical thinking, and research culture directly affect the quality of decisions made in veterinary practice. Particular emphasis was placed on the interconnection between science and practice, as well as the need to rely on evidence-based data, clinical protocols, and the results of scientific research.

During the lecture, the most common diagnostic and therapeutic errors in veterinary practice were reviewed, real professional situations were analyzed, and approaches to error prevention were identified through adherence to clinical protocols and continuous professional and scientific development.

Representatives of the Science Department noted that such guest lectures are an important part of efforts to identify talented students, involve them in research activities, develop scientific and applied projects, and implement them jointly with faculty members and researchers. The Science Department is focused on creating conditions for unlocking students’ potential and supporting student initiatives.

Students showed strong interest in the topic, actively participated in discussions, and asked questions related to the professional responsibility of veterinarians, the role of science in future careers, and opportunities to participate in research projects.

Holding such events contributes to the development of students’ clinical and research thinking, professional responsibility, and awareness of the importance of high-quality veterinary care and a scientific approach for the agro-industrial complex and society as a whole.
