On 11/29/2023, the professorial teaching staff of the Department of Law of ZKITU took part in a round table dedicated to the reforms of housing legislation. During the meeting, housing problems and shortcomings of the current housing legislation were discussed, as well as proposals from civil society to eliminate them. The round table was organized by the Foundation for the Development of Parliamentarism in Kazakhstan. The expert of this fund is Associate Professor of the Department of Law Gabdualiev M.T., who presented a report on the work done as a member of the working group on the development of the draft Housing Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently, the Parliament is considering this bill.

The teachers of the department reasoned their opinion that the reform to replace the cooperative of apartment owners on the association of property owners has not been completed. At the same time, the system of self-government of houses needs to be developed further. In such conditions, the main task is to provide people with high-quality and transparent services.

Based on the received proposals, recommendations will be developed to improve the current Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Housing Relations» for the Working Group of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of the draft Housing Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
