On 12/16/2025, as part of the academic partnership between the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology and the Saratov State Law Academy, a round table with international participation was held on the topic: “Directions for improving the legal regulation of antimonopoly and related legislation”. The initiator of the round table was the Department of Administrative and Municipal Law named after Professor V. M. Manokhin Saratov State Law Academy.
In addition to the Russian university, the event was attended by representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, as well as the professorial teaching staff of Tashkent State Agrarian University.
M.A. Cherkesov, Senior lecturer at the Department of Law, made a presentation from the Institute of Industry Technologies of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University on the topic: “Some issues of the functioning of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The content of the report reflected the specifics of the state legal status of the Kazakh antimonopoly authority, the functioning procedure and the methods used to counteract violations of antimonopoly norms legislation.
Cherkesov M.A. during his speech emphasized the relevance of his report due to the need to analyze the effectiveness of the Agency’s functioning in the context of reforms carried out in accordance with the Concept of Protection and Development of Competition in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026, as well as the recommendations of the International Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
During the discussion, the participants of the round table unanimously noted problematic issues related to the possible risks of unfair competition using artificial intelligence in pricing algorithms.
In conclusion, the participants of the round table also agreed on the need to hold another event dedicated to the law enforcement practices of national and international antimonopoly legislation.
