On May 22, a meeting was held at the Department of Law between students of the 6B04202 “Jurisprudence” educational program, the teaching staff, and representatives of the Department of Economic Investigations (DEI) of the West Kazakhstan Region.

The moderator of the event, Associate Professor of the Department of Law and Candidate of Legal Sciences T.Kh. Rakhmetov, introduced the guests: Deputy Heads of the DEI for the West Kazakhstan Region — Colonel of the Economic Investigation Service A.B. Akhmetov and Lieutenant Colonel Zh.S. Kenzhebayev, Head of the Administrative Department Zh.K. Yerzakov, Chief Specialists of the Administrative Department A.M. Mukhanbetkaliyeva and R.A. Muratova, as well as 2nd-, 3rd-, and 4th-year law students and members of the teaching staff.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize students with the main tasks, functions, and powers of the Department of Economic Investigations — a law enforcement agency operating within the structure of the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the DEI representatives of the West Kazakhstan Region, A.B. Akhmetov and Zh.S. Kenzhebayev, provided students with detailed information about the structure of the department and its work in identifying, preventing, and investigating economic crimes in the region. They also presented examples of the application of modern analytical methods in detecting embezzlement of budget funds, fraud, economic smuggling, illegal cryptocurrency circulation, and compensation for damages using digital technologies.

The participants were shown video materials demonstrating the practical activities of the department’s employees, which helped to fully раскрыть тему встречи. DEI employees Zh.K. Yerzakov, A.M. Mukhanbetkaliyeva, and R.A. Muratova also informed students in detail about the procedures for joining the DEI service, career development opportunities, and the social benefits provided to employees of the department.

During the meeting, the DEI representatives answered all questions from students and faculty members and invited graduates of the department to pursue careers in this law enforcement agency.

At the end of the meeting, moderator T.Kh. Rakhmetov thanked the DEI representatives for participating in the event, wished them success in their service on behalf of the faculty and students of the Department of Law, and expressed hope for further strengthening cooperation between WKITU and the DEI of the West Kazakhstan Region in the new academic year.
