On April 14, 2026, within the framework of the School of Pedagogical Excellence of the Institute of Industrial Technology, Associate Professor of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, K.A. Ihsanov, Ph.D., held a scientific seminar on the topic: “Methodological foundations of scientific research.”
The target audience was undergraduates, doctoral students and young teachers and researchers.
The scientific seminar was devoted to the study of the methodology of scientific research — a system of principles, methods and approaches that ensure the planning, conduct and analysis of scientific work. The main goal was to form a holistic understanding of the scientific process among the participants and to master practical research tools.
During the seminar, the main stages of scientific research were considered: setting a problem, defining a goal, choosing an object and subject, selecting methods, conducting experiments, analyzing results and formulating conclusions. Special attention is paid to research planning, including literature analysis, data collection, and the use of mathematical modeling.
The methods of conducting technical experiments, data processing and interpretation of the results were also studied. The importance of the correct design of scientific papers in the form of articles, dissertations and reports in compliance with GOST requirements is emphasized.
In conclusion, it is noted that knowledge of the methodology of scientific research is a key factor in the successful solution of scientific and technical problems.
