On March 1, 2024, at the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University, as part of the “Meetings” literary club, a creative meeting was held with local history writer Yalfimov A.P. on the topic: “Literary Uralsk.”

The literary meeting was attended by faculty of the department and students of EP 6B01703 “Russian language and literature in schools with non-Russian language of teaching” and “Foreign language: two foreign languages”.

The director of the Institute of Education and Management Tasmagambetov A.S. made a welcoming speech, noting the relevance and importance of the event.

Guest of the literary meeting, Uralsk prose writer, publicist, folklorist Yalfimov A.P. had an interesting conversation with students about the origins of Russian-Kazakh literary connections in the Ural region and introduced those present to his work. Students learned many interesting facts about the work of Russian poets and writers, whose literary activities directly came into contact with the life of our region.

Instructors of the department – Candidate of Philology Osipyan N.D. made a report on the topic: “The topic of literary local history in regional studies classes,” Candidate of Pedagogy Vydrina N.A. on the topic: “Research of literary local history within the framework of literary circles.” At the end of the event, the head of the department Kusainova D.Zh. summed up the meeting and thanked all participants of the event.
