On September 12, 2026, the traditional “Health Day 2026” festival was held at the “Zhastar” Stadium among first-year students of the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology. The purpose of the sporting event was to promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen friendly relations among students.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by A.I. Abekeshev, PhD, Associate Professor and Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of the University. He emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of young people and wished all participants success in the competitions.
The floor was also given to Aruzhan Yksan, a silver medalist in the “Hungarian” style of Zhamby Atu at the VI World Nomad Games. She spoke about her sporting achievements and experience and shared her views with the students on the importance of engaging in sports. She encouraged young people to pursue their goals with determination, promote national sports, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The event was also attended by an honorary guest, Yerikbular Nygmetov, a 2026 graduate of our University and a bronze medalist in sambo at the VI World Nomad Games.
As part of the “Health Day 2026” festival, students competed in the following sporting events:
- 4×100-meter relay;
- tug of war;
- arm wrestling;
- “Fun Starts”;
- kettlebell lifting;
- mini-football.
Throughout the competitions, the students demonstrated great enthusiasm, showcasing their speed, agility, strength, endurance, and teamwork. Each sporting event was exciting and competitive, fostering friendship, mutual support, and a strong sense of unity among the participants.
At the end of the event, the results of the sporting competitions were announced, and the teams with the best results, as well as individual winners and prize-winners, were determined. The winners and prize-winners were presented with certificates of appreciation.
