On November 21, 2025, a meaningful guest lecture on the topic “The environmental situation in the West Kazakhstan region and the role of youth in its improvement” was held for 2nd-year students of OP 6B11201 “Life safety and Environmental protection” at IOT ZKITU. The event was organized with the aim of improving the environmental literacy of students, forming a responsible attitude towards the environment and expanding their understanding of the current state of the region’s ecology.

The lecture was held with the participation of specialists from the Republican State Institution “Department of Ecology for the West Kazakhstan Region” of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives of the department spoke in detail about the key environmental issues specific to the West Kazakhstan region, such as the quality of atmospheric air, the state of water resources, waste management issues, as well as the impact of industrial activities on the environment. Special attention was paid to current measures of state environmental control and existing regulatory mechanisms.

The lecture was conducted by Zhumagaziev Almatai Zakarievich, Head of the Department of State Environmental Control, and Sugurbayeva Tansaule Kairgalievna, Chief Specialist of the Department of State Environmental Control. They noted the importance of youth participation in environmental activities, talked about the possibilities of volunteer environmental movements, scientific projects, as well as the prospects for professional growth of future specialists in the field of ecology and sustainable development. Such lectures contribute to the formation of an ecological culture and motivate young people to make a real contribution to improving the environment.
