From April 24 to 26, 2026, third-year students of the 6B06104 – “Computer Engineering and Information Systems” educational program of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University — Damir Gabdullin, Ilya Ermolaev, and Nikita Pogodin — actively participated in the II stage of the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held at Turan University in Almaty. The students took part under the supervision of Aisulu Mendibayevna Gaineshova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Energy, Automation and Computer Engineering, Master of Technical Sciences.

The Olympiad brought together students from the leading universities of the country studying in the field of “Computer Engineering and Information Systems” and consisted of several stages. During the competition, participants completed theoretical and practical tasks, demonstrating profound knowledge in programming, information systems, and computer engineering.

Moreover, the students’ first participation in a republican-level subject Olympiad became an important opportunity for them to gain professional experience and compare their knowledge and skills with students from the country’s leading universities. Despite it being their debut participation, the students showed high activity and достойно represented the honor of the university.

As a result of the competition, the students were awarded certificates, while their supervisor received a letter of appreciation.
