On April 2, 2025, in honor of Kanysh Satpayev’s birthday, the Department of General Education Disciplines of the Institute of Industrial Technologies, in accordance with the Action Plan “Decade of Science – 2025”, organized and held a poetry competition dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev.
The event was attended by 1st-year students of the EP “Electrical Engineering”, “Transport, Transport Technologies”, “Veterinary Science”, “Architecture”, “Automation and Control”.
According to the terms of the poetry competition, the participants answered the questions of the quiz dedicated to the life and work of A. Kunanbayev, demonstrated their knowledge of the works of the founder of Kazakh written literature, recited the poet’s poems by heart, as well as excerpts from Abai’s “Words of Edification”.
The jury, was – c.f.s, Professor B.A. Shkanova, PhD, c.f.s.. Associate Professor A.A. Uabieva, Senior teacher T. R. Isagulova, noted the growing interest of students in the work of the great Kazakh educator. According to the results of the poetic place, the winners were distributed as follows:
1st place – Otargali Erdaulet, group BDZh-11
2nd place – Spashev Armat, group BDZh-11
3rd place – Kotova Zarina, group ARH-15
Diplomas for active participation were awarded to Bekzat Salimgerey, group EL11; Aman Aruna, group AU-11; Otesh Akbota, group ARH-17.
At the end of the event dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayev, all those present sang in chorus the popular song of all times based on the poet’s verses “Kozimnin karasy”.
