From April 27 to May 6, 2026, career guidance meetings were organized in secondary schools of Atyrau city with the participation of specialists from the Marketing and Pre-University Training Department of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University. The main purpose of these events was to help graduating students choose their future profession, provide comprehensive information about higher education opportunities, and increase young people’s professional motivation and interest.
During the meetings, university representatives provided students with detailed information about professions that are currently in high demand in the labor market and introduced recent changes and new opportunities within the higher education system of the country. Particular attention was paid to such fields as information technology, engineering, law, construction, the oil and gas industry, and digitalization.
Specialist of the Marketing and Pre-University Training Department K.K. Zhaniyarov emphasized that high-quality education and professional qualifications are especially important for young people today. He explained the importance of choosing a profession according to personal interests and abilities and provided comprehensive information about the opportunities available to students at the university. In particular, information was presented about modern laboratories, practice-oriented education systems, industrial internship bases, and international partnership programs of the university.
During the meeting, B.R. Aldongarov also engaged in an open discussion with students and addressed common difficulties related to career choice. He noted that modern specialists should possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. In addition, students were informed that continuous self-development and lifelong learning are essential to remain competitive in the labor market.
The events were conducted in an interactive format, allowing students to ask questions of interest and receive detailed answers from the specialists. Particular attention was given to topics such as preparation for the UNT (Unified National Testing), educational grants, academic mobility programs, student life, dormitory accommodation, and tuition fees. University representatives provided comprehensive explanations and useful information for future applicants.
During the meetings, a special presentation of the educational programs of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University was demonstrated, and informational booklets for applicants were distributed. Participants were also informed about the university’s achievements, students’ scientific projects, cultural and sports accomplishments, and graduate employment statistics.School administrations and teaching staff also emphasized the importance of such career guidance events, noting their significant role in helping young people make the right choice regarding their future profession.
