On April 22, 2026, as part of the “Decade of Science 2026” events, a regional scientific and practical competition for undergraduate and graduate students was held on the topic “Psychological and Pedagogical Innovations in the Context of Digital Globalization as a Factor in the Psychological Transformation of the Individual” organized by the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.
The aim of the event was to develop students’ scientific and theoretical thinking, develop skills in analyzing and systematizing research results, expand opportunities for professional interaction, and refine scientific ideas and develop skills for their effective presentation.
The competition featured presentations of scientific papers, discussions of current psychological and pedagogical issues, and the presentation of innovative ideas and research results.
The following were the winning entries: a first-place diploma was awarded to a student of the Zh. Dosmukhamedov Higher Pedagogical College Silantyeva A.A. presented a paper on “The Use of Digital Educational Technologies as a Factor in the Psychological Development of Younger Students” (research supervisor: V.S. Govorukhina); second-year students of the Psychology program of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University (WKITU) were awarded a second-place diploma, A. Agapov, with a paper on “The Relationship between the Level of Subjective Control and Satisfaction with Professional Activities among Healthcare Institution Employees” (research supervisor: A.B. Sultanov, Master of Social sciences, senior lecturer); and second-year student of the Pedagogy and Psychology program at the same university, B.S. Issanova, with a paper on “The FOMO Phenomenon in the Context of Digital Education: Psychological Consequences and Methods of Assistance” (research supervisor: S.T. Shonbaeva); third-place diplomas were awarded to a student of the Zh. Dosmukhamedov Higher Pedagogical College Sabirova S.E. presented her topic “Using Digital Platforms in Developing Cognitive Processes in Primary School-Age Children” (research supervisor: Zh.M. Sakhipova); U.T. Zhumagali, a student at the same college, presented topic “The Role of the English Club in Organizing Student Leisure Activities” (research supervisor: V.A. Dauletova, Master of Pedagogy); and A.I. Amangaliyeva, a student at M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan University, presented her topic “The Impact of National Games on a Child’s Personal Development” (research supervisor: Zh.Zh. Nabieva, Master of Pedagogy, senior lecturer).
The competition participants who did not win prizes were awarded letters of gratitude.
