On February 19, 2025, within the framework of the signed memorandum of cooperation between the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology and the Department of the Penal Correction System in the West Kazakhstan Region, a practice-oriented lesson on the following topics was conducted by practitioners for 3rd-year students in the educational program 6B04202 “Jurisprudence” of the Department of Law of the Institute of Industrial Technologies of the ZKITU at Institution No. 74 DUIS in the West Kazakhstan region: “The legal status of persons serving sentences” and “Institutions and bodies executing punishment and control”.
This lesson was conducted in order to practically complement the theoretical course “Penal Enforcement Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan” for students who study this special discipline in the 2nd semester.
At the beginning of the lesson, the deputy of the institution, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice L.K. Akhmetkalieva, deputy of the veteran organization of the institution, captain of justice in reserve K.S. Ashirepov, who served his entire service in this institution, inspector of personnel work, Senior Lieutenant of Justice E.D. Azizov, told the museum about the history of this institution, which was built in Uralsk in 1858 and is a monument architecture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The building, which was built with high quality by Italian builders according to a unique design, is still functioning and has not had any escapes in its history. It was told about the different generations of employees who served in this unit, including the participants of the Great Patriotic War, which spoke about the continuity of generations and the preservation of good traditions in the team.
Museum exhibits were demonstrated -historical documents on the construction of this facility, technical facilities, official uniforms, and various achievements of employees. It was informed about the official tasks facing the staff of the institution today.
Future lawyers were familiarized with the rights and duties of remand prisoners, the regime and conditions of detention in accordance with the Criminal Executive Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan in this institution and the procedure for admission and departure from this institution. The students were shown the approved daily schedule for the contained contingent and the ration menu for that day. Many questions were asked by the students, to which comprehensive answers were given by the staff of the institution, the latter wished the students good studies.
In conclusion, the associate professor of the Department of Law, Ph.D. Rakhmetov T.H., responsible for this event, thanked on behalf of the entire teaching staff and students the leadership of the WKWIS and the participating staff of institution No. 74 for their assistance in conducting an interesting lesson, wishing them good health and success in their service.
