A master class dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the university, titled “Determining the Main Properties of Building Materials,” was conducted by lecturers of the Department of Architecture and Construction, K. A. Narikov and A. T. Taskaliev, on April 11 in the Laboratory of Building Materials and Construction Thermophysics for students and faculty members.
The lecturers introduced the audience to the scientific fields of “Ceramic Materials” and “Concrete Products.” They explained the methods of forming building materials, as well as the purpose and operation of the laboratory’s instruments and equipment. Using the instruments, they determined the main physical and mechanical properties of building materials: strength, thermal conductivity, average density, and water absorption.
