On November 15, 2024, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the discovery of the Karachaganak field was held at the Atameken Culture House.

The invited guests included veterans of the gas production and gas processing industries of Kazakhstan and Russia, the management of the management company-operator Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, Russian partners of KPO, as well as the teaching staff and students of the educational programs – “Oil and Gas Business”, “Electric Power Engineering”, “Automation and Control”, “Technological Machines and Equipment”, “Computer Engineering and Information Systems”, etc.

In his welcoming speech to the veterans, KPO CEO Marco Marsili noted the veterans’ contribution to the development of the field and thanked them for their dedicated work.

Among those awarded the “Veteran of Labor” medal was Ayapbergen Makhatovich Nugmanov, senior lecturer of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering.

Currently, more than 2,500 graduates of the WKITU Institute of Industrial Technologies have made a significant contribution to the development of the Karachaganak field.
