On October 16, 2026, students of the 6B02301 Translation Studies educational programme participated as interpreters in the Forum on the Development of Oil and Gas Engineering in Kazakhstan and the Operators’ Open Day (TCO, NCOC, KPO, Silleno, and KMG PetroChem), held in Uralsk.

The events were organised by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in cooperation with the International Centre for Oil and Gas Engineering Development (IMBC).

Participation in the forum provided students with an opportunity to apply their professional interpreting skills in an international business environment, gain familiarity with industry-specific terminology and modern technologies, and learn about the activities of domestic and international companies in the oil and gas sector.

This practical experience contributed to the development of the students’ professional competencies and enhanced their understanding of the role of cross-language communication in international cooperation.
