From May 26 to 29, 2026, an open regional football tournament (11×11) was held among students of higher education institutions and colleges of the West Kazakhstan Region. The event was organized by the West Kazakhstan Regional Football Federation.
The main goal of the tournament was to promote mass student sports, encourage a healthy lifestyle, increase youth interest in sports, and strengthen friendly relations between educational institutions.
Hundreds of students from universities and colleges across the region took part in the competition, demonstrating a high level of performance and competitive matches. This tournament became the first large-scale sporting event of its kind in the history of student sports in the West Kazakhstan Region and gained particular significance.
According to the results of the tournament, the team of students from the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University confidently advanced through the competition and won the championship title. In the final match, the ZKITU team defeated the West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan with a score of 2:0, securing the gold medals of the tournament.
In individual nominations, the university students achieved outstanding results.
In particular:
- The title of “Best Goalkeeper” was awarded to Meirambek Zholdygaliyev, a student of group DShS-411;
- The title of “Best Player” was awarded to Zhiger Sagin, a student of group DShS-211.
The team’s high sporting performance was made possible thanks to the students’ responsibility, team cohesion, and systematically organized training process carried out throughout their preparation. Team coach – Askhats Zhasqairatov, Askhats Zhasqairatovich.
