From May 7 to 28, 2026, a national judo tournament for men and women was held in the city of Uralsk. The competition was dedicated to the memory of Askar Tastaiuly Shaikhiev, World Champion, World Cup winner, and Honored Master of Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At this tournament, students of the “Physical Education and Sports” educational program of the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technological University demonstrated strong performances. In particular, Kanat Abituly and Aisulu Sarsenova won bronze medals.

This achievement is the result of consistent training, determination, and high sporting skill of the students.
