On May 23, 2026, under the leadership of A.K. Dnekeshev, Associate Professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety at the Institute of Industrial Technologies at West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University and Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, a career guidance workshop was organized at the ZOODOCTOR Veterinary Clinic, headed by Maxim Anatolyevich Stramousov. During the meeting, current issues of professional development for veterinary specialists, prospects for advanced training, and opportunities for continuing education in the university’s master’s program were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the interaction between the higher education institution and the practical veterinary sector, aimed at preparing competitive personnel for the veterinary medicine industry.

ZOODOCTOR Veterinary Clinic is one of the largest modern veterinary clinics in the West Kazakhstan Region and the city of Uralsk, providing highly qualified consultations, diagnostics, and treatment of pets. The clinic employs a large team of veterinarians and specialized specialists, many of whom are graduates of the West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University. Some staff members are pursuing master’s degrees at the university, combining practical work with academic training.

During the career guidance meeting, clinic specialists expressed significant interest in the master’s program, the subjects studied, research activities, and career prospects. Government support for veterinary specialists was also discussed, including additional allowances of approximately 25% for work in rural areas, as well as initiatives to introduce bonuses for academic degrees for all categories of veterinary specialists. Such measures are seen as an important factor in enhancing the prestige of the veterinary profession and attracting young professionals to the industry.
