In June of this year, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev solemnly awarded citizens in Akorda who took an active part in the fight against floods. Among those who received state awards was a 3rd year student of OP 6B11201-Life safety and Environmental Protection of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Technosphere Safety of the Institute of Industrial Technologies of ZKITU.

For dedication in the performance of official and civic duty, as well as courage shown in an emergency situation, the Head of State awarded our student Kumarshiev Kuanysh the Order of “Aybin” III degree.

Kuanysh, together with the rescue workers of the fire extinguishing and emergency rescue service of the Emergency Situations Ministry of the West Kazakhstan Region, ensured public order in the Karatobinsky district of the West Kazakhstan region. During rescue operations, a large flow of cold water was stopped 6 kilometers from the district center of Karatobe, which prevented the movement of vehicles. Thanks to the coordinated and selfless actions of Kuanysh and other rescuers, it was possible to evacuate people to a safe zone. Kuanysh’s courageous actions during a natural disaster should be an example for the younger generation.
