On October 21, 2024, in the discipline “Criminalistics”, a guest lecture was held at the Department of Law for students of the Law educational program on the topic: “Criminalistic tracology” by the chief criminologist of the Operational Criminalistic Department of the Police Department in the West Kazakhstan region, Police Lieutenant Colonel Malaev A.M.
During the lesson, a criminologist with 20 years of practical experience in this department significantly revealed the purpose of forensic tracology, its purpose and use in practice. Aslan Menduaevich spoke in detail about the theoretical foundations of trace formation, the patterns of the appearance of traces reflecting the mechanism of committing a crime on the example of traces from vehicles, instruments of crime when entering premises, traces of firearms and cold steel, traces of human hands and feet when committing crimes. The tasks of the investigative task force at the scene of the incident are to detect these traces using forensic techniques to fix, secure and remove them from the scene.
The use of special forensic equipment currently during the inspection of the scene and during the forensic examination of traces found at the scene by forensic specialists, including the use of an investigative and forensic suitcase containing the necessary powders, dactyloplenki, special fixing solutions, a magnifying glass, etc.
The lecturer also spoke about the use of a mobile forensic laboratory in practice in our area by forensic specialists when leaving for inspections of the scene of serious crimes and its capabilities. The guest answered all the students’ questions.
