On May 3, on the eve of the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Great Victory Day, according to the action plan of the IOT ZKITU on combating corruption, the compliance service organized a meeting of students with veterans of combat operations in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan – Deputy Chairman of the NGO “Veterans and Invalids of the War in Afghanistan in the West Kazakhstan Region”, reserve Lieutenant Colonel, Knight of the Order of Kurmet Borovsky Anotoli Vladimirovich and Colonel Sergey Nikolaevich Pungin, who is still a participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.

This event is organized for the purpose of military-patriotic education of students, as well as education of their integrity, responsibility, and love for their Homeland.

The moderator of the event, compliance officer T. Rakhmetov, noted that after the independence of our country in a short time, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 745 dated May 7, 1992, it was announced the creation of its own armed forces. General Sagadat Nurmaganbetov, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was appointed the first Minister of Defense of sovereign Kazakhstan.During this time, our army has passed the path of formation, developed and strengthened all branches of the armed forces, provided with modern weapons, equipment and personnel.Today, our military is brought up on the continuity of generations, the glorious military successes of our fathers and grandfathers – winners in the Great Patriotic War.

More than 1 million 200 thousand soldiers were called up from Kazakhstan to defend the Motherland, of which more than half did not return home.The military exploits of our fellow countrymen of the Heroes of the Soviet Union – Baurzhan Momyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova – are forever inscribed in history.Manshuk Mametova, Khalyk Kahramana – Kasym Kaysenova and Hiuaz Dospanova and many others.

The heroic work of the home front workers during the war is invaluable.Every 9 out of 10 bullets for the Soviet Army were cast from lead mined in Kazakhstan .Our entire population lived under the motto “Everything for the front is everything for Victory.”

The veterans of combat operations in Afghanistan, Borovsky A.V. and Pungin S.N., who spoke, very meaningfully told the students about their service during that period. Military merits of officers and soldiers, many of whom were awarded high military awards.There are no wars without injuries and losses. The following data were provided for our region. All the participants, the soldiers of that war, the heroes and the dead were 18-19 years old. All of them clearly fulfilled their military duty and loyalty to the accepted military Oath.

The participants of the event were shown films about B.Momyshuly, K.Kaysenov, Internationalist soldiers who fought in Afghanistan.

The participants honored the memory of all Kazakhstanis who died in the fighting with a minute of silence.

Veterans called on students to be worthy of the exploits of our older generation, to be decent, responsible, patriots of their Homeland.It is good to master knowledge. engage in physical education and sports and be defenders of your Fatherland!

The guests presented commemorative badges about the war in Afghanistan to students whose parents or relatives served there.

The veterans also answered all the students’ questions.

At the end of this event, T.X Rakhmetov, respected veterans A.V. Borovsky and S.N. Pungin were presented with Letters of thanks on behalf of the rector of the ZKIT Shakeshov B.T. and expressed gratitude from the entire team.
