Currently, the problem of waste pollution is an environmental disaster of a global nature that needs to be urgently addressed. A large amount of waste is a serious environmental problem. Garbage pollutes the soil, air, water, and poisons our food. People all over the world are thinking about how to solve the garbage problem. There are some successes in this issue, but the ideal form of waste disposal has not yet been found.
Recycling is the most effective method of solving the garbage problem at the moment. Everything that can be recycled and reused is recycled, the rest is disposed of. The participation of every person is important in solving this environmental problem.
Realizing this problem, a team of students from the WKITU ENACTUS IOT WKITU launched a project to create biodegradable eco-packages from recycled plastic bottles, with the addition of starch and solid salts. Biodegradable bags, unlike conventional bags, decompose from 6 months to 1 year.
On May 2, 2024, students of ZKITU, together with the Center for the Promotion of Sustainable Development, which acts as the secretariat of the Network of Plastic Collection and Processing Enterprises “PlastNet”, within the framework of a Memorandum of Cooperation, conducted an environmental campaign to install environmental containers in the university buildings. The purpose of the campaign is to inform the residents of the city about the importance of garbage separation, to involve them in the necessary garbage sorting. By choosing eco-containers, we will be able to contribute to make our yard, street, and city cleaner, so that people breathe fresh air, drink clean water, and admire the beauty of the earth!
The future of our planet Earth is in our hands! Take care of our common home! We don’t have and won’t have another one!
