On October 3, 2022, a scientific seminar “Actual problems of Kipchak Studies” was held, organized by the scientific center “Turkology and Altay studies” of the West Kazakhstan innovation and Technology University. Special guests of the seminar were scientists of the Republic of Hungary doctor of philology, senior employee of the Center for humanitarian research of the Institute of Ethnography in Budapest Somfay Daut Kara and Doctor of ethnographic Sciences, senior employee of the Center for research of ritual traditions, musicologist Gergey Akks.

The scientific seminar was attended by the teaching staff of the university, teachers of schools of the region, cultural workers and traditional singers of the Regional Philharmonic named after Garifolla Kurmangaliyev.

At the seminar, Doctor of Philology, Professor Murat Sabyr made a report on today’s goals and objectives in the field of Kipchak studies, presented our university to the guests, told about the progress of scientific work in the direction of “Turkology and Altaytau”.

In turn, Daut, who is fluent in 20 languages, spoke in Black Kazakh and shared the goals and objectives of his visits. He noted that they are descendants of the indigenous Cuman-Kipchaks who emigrated to Europe 9 centuries ago through the Volga and Volga region, and that today they are marked along the Urals, among their ancestors, and that the roots of the Hungarians are connected with the Kipchak ulus. There are many elements of the Turkic language in Hungarian.

The scientist-kypchakologist Murat Sabyr conducted the guests to the Bokeyordinsky and Zhanibek districts, telling about the history of our region, and also introduced them to the ancient eye caries, which tell the poems of Kara SAZ and maqam.

Scientists of the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology signed a contract to conduct research together with foreign scientists and agreed to continue the search work.
