In order to form and develop the professional and methodological competencies of university teachers in the context of digitalization of education, a methodological week is being held at the West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University on the topic “Digitalization of education: modern challenges”. As part of the week, on November 22, 2022, the Department of History and Law held a seminar on the topic “HISTORICAL SCIENCE: in DIGITAL HUMANITIES”.
The purpose of the seminar is to teach the practical use of digital technologies in teaching humanities, as well as the use of various electronic applications in the study of historical trends in science.
The seminar was attended by Kalmenov M.D., Associate Professor of the Department of History and Law, PhD; Nasipkaliyeva A.S., head of the department for organizing excursions and excursion services of the Historical Museum of Local Lore of Western Kazakhstan; Zharmukhanbetova Zh.B., director of the technical department of TORUS.KZ LLP; Zhailanov A.S., teacher of history at school-lyceum No. 27 named after M. Mametova; Sabyrgalieva N.B., PhD, lecturer at the West-Kazakhstan University. M. Utemisova; Kazikhanova A.E., history teacher, secondary school No.10.
The participants of the seminar presented new models of teaching in the field of history education and science, the use of digital programs in archaeological research, effective ways to use innovative IT applications in education, the process of using modern technologies in a museum, providing information on effective ways to use ICT in a history lesson in an updated educational content, and shared their own experiences. The seminar was also attended by teachers and students of the university, undergraduates and expressed their opinion about the seminar.
