In the 2024-2025 academic year, the West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology concluded a number of bilateral long-term agreements with large enterprises of the food industry of the region such as Ak Kainar LLP, Beles – Agro LLP and Poima Mai Combines LLP.».

Based on the agreements concluded, practical classes were organized on these practice bases, as well as professional practice and internships for undergraduate students of the educational program: 6B07205 – Technology and Food Safety.

This specialization is related to ensuring the quality and safety of food. The food industry technologist oversees the production of food products, from the receipt of raw materials to packaging. This requires serious training in the field of chemical processes related to food production, raw material processing technology, and sanitary standards and regulations. Depending on the desire and skills, a food industry technologist can choose the following areas of work: technology of dietary products, canning, meat and dairy industry, baby food technology, etc.

The main task of a technologist is to ensure the safety, quality and efficiency of production processes, apply new technologies and methods, increasing productivity and competitiveness of the enterprise.

The technologist performs a number of functions for the development, control and optimization of technological processes in production.

The main functions of technologists:

  • study and analysis of existing production processes;
  • development of new technological solutions;
  • selection of the necessary equipment in order to optimize production;
  • development of quality standards and control over their implementation;
  • employee training on the correctness of compliance with technological processes;
  • optimization of logistics, determination of the sequence of production operations;
  • Assessment of potential risks and development of mitigation measures;
  • maintenance of technical documentation and cooperation with other specialists on the implementation of industrial solutions;
  • study of new trends in the industry and continuous professional development.

The educational program: Technology and Food Safety was opened for the first time this academic year. The practical experience gained at the practice bases will allow students to gain practical experience, which will allow them to receive high-quality higher education and training of highly qualified competitive specialists in the food industry of the country.
